Autumn is all about bountiful harvests, longstanding customs, and “Törggelen,” the beloved South Tyrolean tradition of sampling fresh wines and hearty local dishes. Rustic inns serve barley soup, dumplings with sauerkraut, stuffed pasta pockets, smoked meats, and roasted chestnuts – paired with house wines and homemade juices.

If you love the outdoors, you’ll find incredible hiking opportunities well into autumn, often with fewer crowds. The air is crystal-clear at this time of year, ensuring sweeping vistas from mountaintops

Benefits of an autumn holiday:

  • Fewer visitors and less traffic

  • Trails and landmarks almost to yourself

  • Apple orchards and vineyards transform into a blaze of color

  • Plenty of culinary events like Törggelen

SAVOR IT ALL

For many travelers, a holiday means cooking together, lingering over meals, and swapping stories about the day’s adventures. Others prefer dining out and letting someone else do the work. At our Hütterhof farm, you can have it both ways.

Prepare your own meals in the apartment or our communal lounge – or explore the local restaurants. Many spots are within walking distance, and we’ll gladly recommend our personal favorites.
